Hampton Inn Richmond - South

We were looking for an inexpensive stay near Richmond during our trip up from FL and this was just right. It’s a Hampton Inn so don’t expect the rooms to be like the Ritz, but it was comfortable. Lots of pillows, nice bed, and soap/shampoo in the shower were enough to make it a good stay. The staff were super friendly and the free breakfast was better than expected.

The front desk lady, Christina, was amazing professional and fast. Our room was just what we needed and at great price point. I can’t wait for breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend!

Always like staying at a Hampton Inn. This one isn't bad and service was great! I ended up with an unwanted friend though... but fortunately just one. Nearby restaurants and amenities are a bit limited if walking but there is a Subway and Shell nearby for food and drink. Also right across from a bar and grill. If you have a car, then there seems to be a lot of good Mexican food choices nearby. Everything else was great!

Friendly service and clean hotel. Beds were comfortable and a hit shower. Typical Hampton Inn if you are familiar with the brand. Liked that the room had a microwave and only complaint is thermostats on the wall did not work and have to use the controls in the unit. Breakfast was good but no yogurt option here for the traditional Hampton breakfast option. No snack nook here but does offer a business center, pool, fitness center, and guest laundry. Enjoyed the time here and I would stay here again.

When I checked in late at night, I was first given a room that turned out to be already occupied. I went upstairs with my dog and when the key didn’t work, a man who had already checked in opened the door... a shocking and unsafe mistake, especially so late at night. I returned to the front desk, but the staff member who checked me in was not there. I, my very well-behaved dog (he sat there the entire time... even to the point of continuing to sit there when we were done and ready to head to the elevator!), and 2 other people waited in the lobby for her to return. When she finally showed up, she was rude to my dog, immediately telling him to “back up” upon seeing him. Then, instead of apologizing for her mix-up, she brushed off the situation as “a small mistake.” That may be true for her, but not for the guest who just had someone trying to enter his room in the middle of the night with a 70lb pitbull, or the young woman traveling alone who was sent to a room with a man already occupying it. The new room I was assigned turned out to be a handicap-accessible room. It was immaculate, very comfortable, and extremely spacious — which made the rest of the night much better. The next morning, my experience was completely different. The morning staff was warm and friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. Overall, the hotel itself is clean and well-maintained, but the night staff’s mistake and unprofessionalism really soured my first impression. If the customer service was as good at night as it was in the morning, this would have been an easy 5-star stay.

I really enjoyed my stay upon arriving Miss Brianna helped with my reservation also I called before and she was very communicative to let me know she seen the reservation told me everything I needed to and greeted me and made me feel welcomed when arriving, answered all questions and was very helpful she awesome!!!!!

I loved my stay here. The breakfast is nice, it's right next to a Starbucks and Subway. The people at the front: some are fantastic (shout out to Santiago), others (I thought) were less sociable. The room is clean, the bed and bathroom is nice. The only thing I did not like was that you cannot close the curtain. This made me feel a bit uncomfortable as it gave the feel that someone could be watching. I liked the hotel, will go there again in the future

Stayed here two nights, clean and comfortable room. The breakfast area was clean and well stocked. The staff were friendly. I would recommend staying here.
